Dutch Championship Sprinting Chess 2026
On Saturday the 6th of June 2026, the next Dutch Championship Sprinting Chess will take place at Jaarbeursplein in Utrecht, the Netherlands. Registration closed on the 15th of April. Sign up for the wait list here. Champions will be crowned in different categories (including youth).What is sprinting chess?
Sprinting chess is chess on a board of 20 x 20 meters under time pressure. You run with the pieces across the board and to the clock.- We play with large pieces - the king is 65 cm tall.
- The clock is on the right side of the board (next to the h-file), and is set to hourglass with 30 seconds per player.
- We follow the "Basic Rules Of Play" from the FIDE Laws of Chess.
- Pieces stand upright in the (approximate) center of their square. Captured pieces must be taken to the side.
